On The Job Stress Management

Multi-tasking, rushing, national and global travel, meetings, email, and voicemail are integral parts of every day business.  With this intensity comes S-T-R-E-S-S.  Eighty percent  (80%) of workers feel stress on the job.  One half of those say they need help in learning how to manage stress.

There is no one single definition for stress but the *National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) defines work stress a “harmful physical and emotional responses that occur when the requirements of the job do not match the capabilities, resources or needs of the worker.”  It is important that you, the associate, understand your personal responsibility in taking   control when it comes to overcoming work place stress.  On the other hand, employers need to understand the importance of their role in reducing work place stress without sacrificing company profit.

Mr. CEO, how do you reduce stress, keep profits up and tend to the needs of your associates?  Ms and Mr. Associate, how do you take control of your own work place health if your company has no plan in place?  Here are a few low cost ways for both corporations and their associates to get things started.

Massage Therapy and Yoga Instruction

Many of today's health problems can benefit from complement treatments such as yoga and massage. Complement treatments will have a therapeutic affect and improve health by acting directly on the muscular, nervous, circulatory and immune systems. They aim to relieve pain, relax tight and tense muscles, improve circulation, and reduce overall stress. In addition, they also are effective in creating a sense of relaxation and well-being. What a better way to reward your associates or yourself with a lunch time of relaxation.

Lunch and Learn Workshops

Workshops offer your organization a way to relax and learn in a fun noncompetitive environment. Participants will gain knowledge in regards to personal and professional development as well as health and nutrition. Give yourself or your associates cutting edge information and growth opportunities with dynamic presentations.  Suggested workshops may include but are not limited to:
