I love dogs and cats but more dogs. Currently, we
own 2 Beagles and 1 Boston Terrier. My family shows both breeds in
the show ring wining numerous awards.
In 2006, my daughter and our Beagle "Rooney", who
is named after the original owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Art
Rooney, were invited to the Westminster Dog Show in New York City as
well as the Eukcanuba Invitational in Tampa. We continue to love the
sport and pursue it with passion. Dogs teach us how to live a simple
life unaltered by time and space as well as what it takes to forgive
and be forgiven.
I am a huge advocate of "Servant Leadership" in the workplace and in
the community where leaders serve the people at all levels. Service
is performed by leaders becoming involved at the lowest level to
actively pursue the value and worth that each member contributes in
order to reach company or community goals. This enables
organizational associates and community teams to be focused,
productive, valued, and healthy both physically, mentally and
professionally.
I am an "A type" personality with a mission in life to actively
contribute and assist people to become positive, healthy and live to
their full potential at whatever life stage. I have a drive and
vision for people success thus creating organizational success in
the process.
I am big proponent of healthy eating and regular exercise. I live by
the "80/20" rule, which allows me to actively pursue health and
wellness but allows for slippage if it occurs. The 20% is a safely
net and allows me room for error if I can't resist the chocolate
cake. I continue daily to seek out health related information to
stay informed.
I love to read books that motivate and inspire me. There are moments
where you realize that personal changes need made in order for you
to move forward and experience the present moment. Our past is a
great teacher not only to us but those with whom we associate but
more importantly to those that watch us without our knowledge. I am
a continual learner always pursuing the next level of educational
achievement for my personal and professional growth.
A must read for every adult is Chasing Daylight by Eugene O'Kelly.
Eugene was the CEO of KPMG International when he learned he had
terminal brain cancer and had 100 days to live. He chronicles his
last days and thoughts on living in the Present Moment, friendships
and work/life balance. This will open your eyes to an honest look at
your own life and what changes you should be making to live your own
"100 days" or more successfully the way you define that.
I gave 160 free coaching hours to various
organizations in 2005.
Some of these have more than an hour.
For example, McHenry County PEACE 4ALL - 100 hours.
